10th Annual Sea Fare – October 19th – Aquarium of the Pacific – Long Beach, CA
The Sea Fare at the Aquarium of the Pacific
On October 19th, 2013 – The Aquarium of the Pacific in Downtown Long Beach is hosting their 10th Annual Sea Fare – a gala event/fundraiser that will benefit the Aquarium of the Pacific, where guests stroll through the galleries sampling food, sipping cocktails, and bidding on auctions. There will be more than 25 participating restaurants and food and beverage providers offering delicious food tastings – silent and live auctions of many interesting items and experiences and an open bar. Here is a copy of the program.
Wyland – Penguin Pre-Party
With a $100 upgrade to the Sea Fare ticket, you may attend the Penguin Pre-Party with environmental artist Wyland, have your photo taken with one of the Aquarium’s Magellanic Penguins, specialty drinks, and be entered to win a FREE matted and framed painting by one of the Aquarium’s penguins. (A painting done by a penguin?!)
Seafood for the Future will present a sustainable seafood cooking demonstration with Chef Patrick “Paddy” Glennon. Seafood for the Future is a non-profit seafood advisory promotion program with the Aquarium of the Pacific – dedicated to educating the public about making responsible seafood choices; such as avoiding over-fished or threatened species and choosing seafood that will ensure the survival of more species in the future.
Seafood for the future has partnered with area restaurants and seafood providers to offer sustainable seafood options.
Tickets to the Sea Fare can be purchased on the Aquarium of the Pacific website. Regular tickets are $125 and the upgrade to the Penguin party are an additional $100. The event begins at 7pm and goes until 11pm. Attire is California Casual. This is a very popular event and will probably sell out.
Have fun this weekend!
