Where To Go For New Years Eve
The Holiday season is coming to a close – and it’s about time to ring in the new year. There are no shortage of great places to spend New Years Eve in Long Beach and Orange County, CA – but I’ll give you some highlights if you’re stumped for ideas.
Downtown Long Beach is hosting a huge New Years Eve bash on Pine Ave and Rainbow Harbor. There is a FREE Family Friendly celebration on the Rainbow Harbor waterfront from 5-10pm featuring live music and activities for kids. At 9pm there will be a ten minute fireworks display, sponsored by Gladstones, for families to ring in the new year.
The Pine Avenue Celebration will begin at 8pm till 2am, and will encompass 2 city blocks. There will be several options for live music, with two headlining bands: The Rival Sons and The Mowgli’s. Tickets to the Pine Avenue Celebration are $15 presale, and $20 at the door – it is advised you pick up your tickets prior to 8pm to avoid long lines. Tickets are available on the Downtown Long Beach website.
The Queen Mary is a New Year Eve staple every year in Long Beach. What can I say? It’s elegant, on the water, and it’s a great place to watch the fireworks. This year’s event, “Passport To A New Year” sounds really fun, with rooms honoring ports-of-call The Queen Mary would have visited as a passenger ship. Themed ballrooms for Bombay, Rio de Janiero, Manhattan, Cherbourg, and Scotland will take attendees on a voyage of fun. General Admission starts at $99 – with various VIP and add-on packages available to make your evening extra-special. Tickets are available on the Queen Mary website
A Midnight Kiss – Avenue of the Arts Wyndham – Orange County
From CBS Los Angeles:
“If you are looking for a little romance sprinkled into your New Year’s Eve party, then look no further than A Midnight Kiss at the Avenue of Arts. This Costa Mesa hotel party is in its third year, offering couples and strangers alike an open bar and a DJ to ring in the new year.”
This is the 3rd annual Midnight Kiss at Avenue of the Arts Wyndham – an event with three different rooms and an open bar.
McCormick and Schmick’s in Irvine is hosting a New Years Eve interactive murder mystery dinner show with Wit and a Wink Entertainment – the theme is “Hollywood Confidential”. There will be a 1950’s costume contest, however costumes are not required. This is a fun and unique way to spend NYE with friends. Tickets are $129 each, available on the Wit and a Wink website.
You can ring in the new year in style, aboard a party yacht! This is a popular event that will sell out. The party is launching from two locations: San Pedro and Newport Beach – leaving at 9pm and returning at 1:30am. There is a champagne greeting, music, dancing, and an open bar for the 4 hour cruise. GET YOUR TICKETS RIGHT NOW if you’re thinking about going – they’re available on the NYE Yacht Parties website.
